Rosalia Vila Tobella[2] (born 25 September 1992),[3] known mononymously as Rosalia (Spanish: [rosa'li.a], Catalan: [ruz@'li.@]),[4][5][6] is a Spanish singer. She was born in Barcelona and has been described as an "atypical popstar" because of her diverse musical styles. [9] She was captivated by Spanish folk music when she was just 13 years old. She was a musicologist at the Catalonia College of Music and was also a wedding singer. Mixing flamenco with hip hop and pop the album produced "Malamente" (single) as well as "Pienso en tu Mira (single). Both songs have been hugely successful and have received a hefty amount of critical acclaim. El Mal Querer, who received the Latin Grammy Award as Album of the Year and listed in Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time began her rise into the international music scene. Rosalia has explored urbano music in her albums of 2019 "Con Altura", and "Yo Ti Tu x Mi", has achieved worldwide success. She gave reggaeton an innovative spin on her third studio album Motomami (2022) and departed from the new flamenco style of the album that preceded it. The album caught international attention due to its singles "La Fama" and "Saoko" and was subsequently the album that received the highest rating this year by Metacritic. In her entire career, Rosalia has accumulated ten top-ten singles in her home country, which is the highest number for a local artist. Rosalia has won 11 Latin Grammy Awards, two Grammy Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards and four MTV Europe Music Awards, three UK Music Video Awards, and two Premio Ruido Awards. In the year 2019 Billboard gave her the Rising Star Award for "changing the current sound of mainstream music by introducing a fresh, flamenco-inspired pop",[18and she became the first Latino-singing group ever to be recognized as the Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards. Grammys Rosalia was born on 25 September 1992 in Sant Cugat del Valles and raised in Sant Esteve Sesrovires,[20][21][22] Baix Llobregat, Catalonia. Her family has no artistic backgrounds and is the youngest daughter of Pilar Tobella, a businesswoman who manages a small family business specialised in metalworks. Jose Manuel Vila was her father. He was born in Cudillero (Asturias). They parted in 2019. Her 23-year-old older sibling, Pilar "Pili" Vila (born 1989) and works with Rosalia as her stylist and creative director. Rosalia showed an interest in performing arts from a young age, particularly following her discovery of the discography of Camaron de la Isla. Her musical education began in Taller de Musics. She completed a 6 year program at the academy. She started at the Raval school, then moved to the Superior School of Music of Catalonia. Additionally, she performed as an independent artist at weddings and musical bars in which she was paid "a just over 80 euros in exchange for dinner".
