Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on the 19th January, 1946 at Locust Ridge Tenn. She was raised with 12 other children. Her imaginative mind allowed her to escape life's harsh reality. life. Before she learned to read and write she was making up her own music. In the year she turned 8years old, she purchased her first electric guitar. She started singing at the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. In the same year, she recorded her first recording on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. While still in highschool she established herself in the local community, yet she yearned for having a bigger stage. When she was graduating in 1964, she moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. At about this time Porter Wagoner was looking for an actress to sing for the show he had syndicated to television. Parton accepted the job and in the year 1967, she signed with RCA Records in 1968 and became a member of with the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. But she resigned from the show in 1974 as her solo releases such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were charting collaborations with them. Parton wrote I Will Always love You in honor of Wagoner following their split. It made it to No. #1 for the first time in 1974.
